Causes of Diarrhea
Diarrhea has several functional causes. Among them may be:
Food Intolerances - One common intolerance you may be familiar with is lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerance is only one of many intolerances that you may have. It’s estimated that between 30 and 50 million Americans are lactose intolerant. People can also be sugar intolerant, and intolerant to other major food groups such as fat and protein. Artificial sweeteners can also promote diarrhea for sensitive individuals as well.
Parasites - Often parasites can enter the body from food or water. Some experts believe that more than 50 percent of Americans are hosts to parasites. Common parasites include Giardia Lamblia, Entamoeba Histolytica and Cryptosporidium.
Medications - Many drugs cause diarrhea. Acid blockers for GERD, blood pressure medications, and diabetes mediations can promote chronic diarrhea.
Bacteria - Long standing bacterial infections can also promote chronic diarrhea.
Food Allergies and Food Sensitivities - Many foods can produce allergy-like responses for people who are sensitive to them. Often hidden or unidentified food sensitivities cause chronic diarrhea.

"What I like about Dr. Patrick is that he is easy to talk to and he explains his approach well about how he is going to address your problem. If you follow what Dr. Patrick tells you to do and what to change, you will get results. But if I don’t I found I’ll pay for it later by how I feel."
